As our mothers have been telling us for decades “you are what you eat”. It’s taken years to prove it but it is true. Diet is a crucial part of maintaining health and incorrect diet choices are often at the root cause of many diseases. Dr. Payne can help you identify nutrient deficiencies and food sensitivities using your symptoms, diet and laboratory tests.
Most of us have experienced the calming effects of Chamomile tea, but many people don’t know that the use of herbs goes much beyond this. Herbs can be used to treat conditions as simple as indigestion and as complicated as Cancer and everything in between.
As a Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Payne is trained to use acupuncture as part of her treatment plans. Acupuncture can help regain balance in the body. Studies have shown that acupuncture is effective in treating various conditions such as infertility, digestive disturbances, anxiety, and PMS symptoms. Dr. Payne has completed extra education in the use of acupuncture for fertility.
Unfortunately life can throw us many challenges, however every adversity offers an opportunity for growth. Naturopathic medicine acknowledges and embraces the emotional connection to health and disease.
Dr. Payne understands that there is a time and place for the use of pharmaceutical medications. Naturopathic doctors were given pharmaceutical rights in April of 2009. In order to be given a pharmaceutical prescribing license, Naturopathic Doctors are required to complete an extensive Pharmaceutical training and pass a licensing exam. Dr. Payne has obtained her pharmaceutical license and finds this allows her to better navigate complex cases that include pharmaceutical medications prescribed by other practitioners. She has also taken additional training in the use of bio-identical hormone therapy.
